With more and more people choosing caravan holidays, there's bound to be keen interest in the display by Yesterday’s Touring Group. The Yesterday’s Touring Group has only been established just 5 years, yet this section of the show is rapidly expanding with yet another record number of entries. Forget all mod cons, these people prefer caravans as they were in the early days. The Group will display caravans dating from 1930 to 1985 including a very rare 1950 Bampton. There will also be an equally scarce 1970 Eriba Puck, a show first - 1985 Romini and a 1972 Casita Joliette four-berth fold away. Members of the Yesterday’s Touring Group take pride in using the caravans as was intended when they were built, so do not be fooled by the high standard of restoration – these are not museum pieces.

Rob Carthew, director of the classic caravan section of Gloucestershire Steam & Vintage Extravaganza, says: "Caravans form part of our social history. They were originally used by travellers and entertainers before the war. It's fascinating to see how they have evolved into modern caravans, which provide an affordable holiday for many people."
