As the Commercial Vehicle section of the Gloucestershire Steam Extravaganza has developed over the years, it was becoming increasingly apparent that Vintage Fairground Transport and Living Vans were being drawn into the event.

With our move to South Cerney in 2011, it was decided that the gathering of these gloriously colourful and diverse vehicles should be done on a more formal basis, and so the 'Fairground Transport' section was born. Those that visited the event witnessed a stunning display of iconic movers and shifters of various makes, models and colours all of which was augmented with a fantastic display of period Living Vans and other items that formed a kaleidoscopic backdrop to the steam section.

Enthusiasts drooled at the display and have since been spreading the word far and wide and at the time of writing this short introduction to the section we have already started to receive a great deal of enquiries from other owners of some seriously impressive items of transport from a Fairground heritage.

So with its roots firmly set this particular section looks set to expand and develop further, adding more colour, more history and more gloriously restored vehicles to the event. Don't worry about missing this element of the event; you simply won't be able to miss it.
