As you wander around this years Steam Extravaganza, you will surely be amazed at the diversity of the exhibits we have assembled for you to feast your eyes over. From the largest to the smallest vehicles, we have just about everything you’ll want to see from the worlds of road transport, industry and agriculture. One particular section has always been rather difficult to define as it pretty well covers all three of the aforementioned elements of the show - The Industrial Truck.
These delightful little machines were possibly on of the most adaptable machines ever invented and saw use in a myriad of situations – from factory floors to greenhouses, yards and harbours, stables to council depots; the list is pretty much endless!
Here at South Cerney you can see for yourself, as we go all out to gather the most diverse selection of these iconic vehicles for your entertainment. Owners and enthusiasts travel from all over the UK to attend the event as the Gloucestershire Steam Extravaganza is widely regarded as ‘the’ Autotruck event in the enthusiasts calendar and we can lay claim to holding a record for the most vehicles on display in preservation times.
Iconic names such as Reliance, Mercury, Wrigley and of course the mighty Lister Autotruck are represented, in a display that is second to none. Our visitors are not only treated to a fine static display, but also various demonstrations on how these machines work. You’ll soon understand exactly why they were so popular in days gone by, but also now within the preservation scene.
