SOUTH CERNEY AIRFIELD : CIRENCESTER

The Vintage Tractor section at South Cerney has got to be one of the best you will find at any show in the UK. Gleamed, collated and transported from a myriad of locations throughout the South West, Midlands and beyond the 'tractor line' really is a sight to behold.

Overseas and domestic builders are all represented via a diverse selection of models, types, description and modification. To the untrained eye it may well just be a very colourful display, but once you delve deeper into the individual exhibits you'll start to appreciate what the world of tractor ownership is all about and why it is so popular with our visitors here at the Steam Extravaganza.

The display will take you on a journey through the development of an item of machinery that so many take for granted, yet few could survive without. If you actually think about the uses these workhorses encounter, you will soon appreciate that its not just about muck spreading and causing hold ups on your way to work.

All the makes and models the enthusiast can imagine are represented, and to the uninitiated most of the colours of the rainbow are presented. Several builder specific displays and club stands are usually featured and our visitors must not forget to look out for the 'Dancing Tractors' display. It probably won't be the most dramatic or high octane arena event you'll see this summer, but you will appreciate it none the less - even if its just to admire grown men and women poking fun at themselves!
