Historic Military Vehicles are fascinating to both young and old alike.
From the humble jeep to the imense tracked armour, there is something about a military vehicle that draws you towards it and fills you with a desire to find out more. By their very nature they are rich in history and all have varied stories attached.
Section organisor, Mandy Keedwell always gathers a wide selection of vehicles that date from pre First World War to present day . The display is put together in a way that offers our visitor a chance to get up close to each vehicle and inspect first hand the vehicles and equipment that have helped shape the world as we see it today.
As well as a rich service history many of these wonderfully preserved and restored machines will have appeared in some of the great war movies of our time, again adding to the charm of these diverse and fascinating machines.
This year’s Military section consists of over 100 vehicles of all sizes and ages. Including some unusual ones, like the Swiss made Saurer 6M signal van which was built in 1942, that came in cargo and house van bodies and a very rare 1984 ex RAF Scammell and 1965 Commer TS3 Cargo 1, one of only three built to military specification.

Mandy Keedwell, the director of the military vehicles section of Gloucestershire Steam & Vintage Extravaganza, says: "There is a growing interest in military vehicles – new ones as well as old ones.
