The Gloucestershire Steam Extravaganza is organised by the Stroud Vintage Transport & Engine Club (SVTEC), which must make it one of the biggest club run events in the UK. If you have enjoy all things Steam & Vintage, why not join us? As well as the world renown 'Steam Extravaganza' the club runs a programme of indoor meetings during the Autumn and winter months.

Each meeting covers a different topic from the preservation world and features guest speakers. Subjects covered recently include trams, trains, canals, traction engines, aircraft, timber haulage and industrial archaeology.

Photographers whose work features regularly in the preservation press feature prominently in the programme and in recent years, club members have enjoyed slide shows from many of the best photographers working in the field of preservation today.

All indoor meetings are free to club members.

During the summer months, the club runs visits to places of interest to its members. Transport and admission charges are kept as low as possible and travel is often by vintage bus or coach. Recent destinations have included the Attwell-Wilson Motor Museum at Calne, the Rolls Royce Heritage Collection at Filton and the watermill on the Stanway Estate, where members were able to purchase the mills own stone ground Cotswold flour.

Each member also receives a monthly newsletter.
